How to repair table leg my dog chewed?
I have a cherry pedestal dining table. While I had company in my kitchen, my Lab dog who has so many toys to chew, was busy chewing the leg of the table and took out a section about 4 inches in diameter. I thought of using a cherry stain and sealer to camouflage it but I noticed that the surface is rough and there is a ridge. Is there a way to fill in the ridge before I stain and seal it? How else can I go about repairing this disaster?
The store that I purchased the table from is no longer in business so I don't know how to get help in terms of replacing the leg. I have to repair it.
This is not a dog question, you need to go down to home depot or your hardware store and ask them.
I know there is wood filler for this type of job, you put it in the ridge, let it dry, sand it to shape and then stain and seal it.
My dogs have done some chewing of furniture when they were young, and this is what I did. It works just fine.
