The Classic Style of Rococo Furniture
Entymologically, Rococo is derived from a mixture of French rocaille, which means shells or in Italian barocco or Baroque fashion. The former alludes to the preoccupation with nonstructural innovations and curvatures in Rococo manner. Critics originally applied the term as a disparaging remark against what they saw as the frivolousness of the Rococo pattern of art. But when the term was taken in into the English nomenclature, it preserved the intensions of classicism both in style and old fashioned.
