China, Japan, South Korea will eatablish a Cooperation Swcretariat in 2010
16, China, Korea and Japan in Seoul government representatives signed the "Government of Japan and South Korea the Secretariat on the establishment of trilateral cooperation agreement." Zhang Xinsen Chinese ambassador to Korea, South Korean Foreign Minister Jinxing Huan ambassador to South Korea and Japan, Masatoshi Muto day behalf of their respective governments signed the agreement.
It is reported that Japan and South Korea last year's summit was first proposed the idea of the secretariat set up trilateral cooperation. This year in May, Jeju Island, Korea, Japan and South Korea leaders to meet again, it signed a memorandum concerning the establishment of the Secretariat.
Japan and South Korea under the consensus reached by leaders of the three countries decided in 2011, Secretariat of the trilateral cooperation in South Korea for trilateral cooperation consultation mechanism to provide support to explore and facilitate the implementation of cooperation projects in three countries and to study the importance of cooperation involving the three countries issues comprehensively promote and strengthen the trilateral cooperation.
Japan and South Korea co-operation started 10 years to build 17 more than 50 ministerial meeting mechanisms and exchange of dialogue. Three countries that early establishment of the Secretariat, the three countries is conducive to coordinate cooperation in various fields, so that toward the efficient, standardized, orderly and institutionalized cooperation in the direction of advance is conducive to deepening the future and all-round partnership.
This is South Korean media as the three neighboring countries in Northeast Asia, "a landmark event."
South Korean officials said that the Secretariat will be located in Incheon, South Korea established the city of Pine Island, a South Korean diplomat may at the ambassadorial level as the Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the first rotation. The Secretariat is responsible for the work includes: co-operation for the three countries and management of administrative, technical support; attend important meetings and liaison with the three countries; development of new cooperation projects; to the Tripartite Commission for the joint project evaluation reports and performance reports, studies the three cooperation in the focus issues.
The signing ceremony of the 16th, the South Korean Foreign Minister Jinxing Huan, said: "We signed the agreement in the history of Japan and South Korea is the first time, suggesting that the level of cooperation between the three countries will be profoundly improve."
South Korean media on the establishment of the Secretariat highly of, "This is a landmark agreement, which is the three neighboring countries in East Asia --- even though they are still controversial when the quarrel because of historical and other first signed --- Cooperation Treaty. "
